Tinnitus Cures and Causes

Tinnitus (variously pronounced tin-NIGHT-us or TIN-i-tus) is noise—ringing, clicking, roaring—only you can hear.

The American Academy of Otolaryngology estimates 12% of the U.S. population suffers from tinnitus—that’s 36 million Americans. According to the Mayo Clinic, tinnitus “rarely is a warning of a serious problem” but it is a symptom—maybe of ear damage, maybe of anxiety, and maybe of something more serious such as high blood pressure, so it’s wise to consult your doctor.

Excess Sound

  • Allow ample quiet time for recovery.
